West Norfolk Swimming Club King’s Lynn Alive St James Pool open meet makes triumphant return

After a two-year absence, the West Norfolk Swimming Club’s annual open meet at Alive St James’ Pool has made a triumphant return to the swimming calendar.

The sold-out weekend event drew visiting swimmers from Wisbech, Boston and the South Lincolnshire Swimming Club.

The hosts had a successful weekend, with personal bests and medals galore for the more than 100 swimmers from West Norfolk who took part over the two days, some of whom were in one of their first tastes of an open meet style competition.

Among the visitors, South Lincs stood out; securing the award for best visiting club with their swimmers Frank Lamb and Lucy Wilson winning the top performing boy and girl trophies, the latter sharing her award with West Norfolk’s Wiktoria Marcinek.

The club would like to thank the small army of family and friends who volunteered their weekends to ensure the event ran smoothly under the leadership of Dating Promoter Amanda Bellamy.

Thanks also to the event’s main sponsors, Alive West Norfolk, for their invaluable support both during the organization of the open competition and throughout each season.
