USA Swimming announces 2023 schedule, with Pro Swim Series stop at ISHOF pool

USA Swimming announced the dates and locations for domestic meets in 2023 on Wednesday, a list that includes a TYR Pro Swim Series stop in Fort Lauderdale, scheduled for new Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Center at the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

Wednesday’s schedule includes four TYR Pro Swim Series stops in the spring – in Knoxville, Tennessee; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Westmont, Ill.; and Mission Viejo, California. They will compete in the International Team Trials in Indianapolis from June 27 to July 1. The Phillips 66 Nationals will be held in Irvine, Calif., August 1-5.

The TYR Pro Swim Series is tentatively scheduled for March 1-4 in Fort Lauderdale. It would be one of the first major events hosted by the state-of-the-art Fort Lauderdale facility, which is also home to the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

The winter Toyota US Open will take place from November 29 to December 29. 2, at a location to be determined. The venue is also to be announced for the Speedo Winter Junior Championships, in the East and West halves.

“Our goal is to provide as much clarity as possible regarding next year’s schedule as soon as possible, allowing our members to develop training regimens that optimize performance while allowing members to organize their year by consequence,” said the president and CEO of USA Swimming. Tim Hinchey III said in a press release. “We are investing in quality competitions at a pace that will set athletes up for success and we will seek to finalize locations for each event as soon as possible.”

  • March 1-4: TYR Pro Swim Series, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
  • April 12-15: TYR Pro Swim Series, Westmont, Illinois.
  • April 21-23: Open Water Nationals, Sarasota, Florida.
  • May 17-20: TYR Pro Swim Series, Mission Viejo, CA.
  • June 27-July 1: International Team Trials, Indianapolis, Ind.
  • July 25-29: Speedo Junior National Championships, Irvine, CA.
  • August 1-5: Phillips 66 National Championships, Irvine, CA.
  • 29 Nov-Dec 2: Toyota US Open, TBD
  • December 6-9: Speedo Winter Junior Championships (East), TBD
