Top 10 paddling pools in Hampshire – and three indoor pools when it rains

WITH summer in full swing, a family day out at one of the area’s aquatic facilities could be the perfect way to beat the heat.

We’ve picked out some of the area’s top attractions, big and small, with something for everyone to cool off in during the summer months.

So stock up on the sunscreen, pack the picnic and head to your local attraction for a day to remember.

Chineham Park Wading Pool

Address: Chineham Park, Popley, RG24 9BL

Opening hours: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily

The newly redone paddling pool has recently undergone a complete refurbishment, with the area now featuring a 350m paddling pool and numerous fountains including a water mushroom, jet totem poles and a water hopscotch . Many green spaces complete this family facility.

Water kingdom and muddy puddles at Paulton’s Park

Address: Paulton’s Park, Ower, Romsey SO51 6AL

Opening hours: Tuesday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday to Monday from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

Perfect for the summer, Paulton’s Park has not one but two water parks that are great for cooling off and provide the perfect break after the rides. These two attractions are included in the ticket price. Water Kingdom features 8,500 square feet of watery paradise. With over 40 different ways to get wet. Including: water jets, giant tipping buckets and fountains. There is a seated patio nearby for parents to sit and watch as well as a kiosk that sells snacks and drinks.

It wouldn’t be a Peppa Pig themed plot without Muddy Puddles. This space is for children from 0 to 6 years old while waiting for adults and children accompanying younger children.

South Seas Splash Pool

Address: Clarence Esplanade, Southsea Waterfront, Southsea, PO5 3NS

Opening hours: May 21 to September 4, 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Aimed at families with children under 8, Southsea Splash Pool, located along Southsea Common, has two splash pools and plenty of other play facilities. The local cafe offers drinks and snacks.

Because this area is family friendly, barbecues and dogs are not permitted on site. Alcohol and tobacco are prohibited. Children must wear bathing suits or swim diapers when using the pools.

A fun water fountain is also a short walk from Southsea Castle.

Admission is free for all and there is street parking nearby.

Fleming Park Pool

Address: 161 Passfield Ave, Eastleigh SO50 9NF

Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

This popular outdoor pool is free to the public and includes plenty of water features for kids to enjoy as well as a large playground and sandbox. There is also an ice cream van as well as restrooms on site.

Hilsea Jubilee Splash Pool

Address: London Road, Hilsea, Portsmouth PO2 9RP

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This paddling pool is the perfect way to cool off on a summer day. It is easy to get to and is on all major bus routes. There is also free parking as well as free entrance to the swimming pool. It is incredibly popular with young children. The swimming pool has two shallow pools as well as on-site restrooms and changing tables.

It’s a family neighborhood. Dogs, barbecues, alcohol and smoking are not permitted on site. Children using the pool must wear appropriate clothing.

Fordingbridge Park

Address: Fordingbridge, SP6 1AN

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Situated on the banks of the River Avon, Fordingbridge Park is a vast scenic area. This includes a complete play area with apparatus as well as a small paddling pool. There is paid parking on site across the road.

Lymington Seawater Bath

Address: Bath Road, Lymington SO41 3SE

Located in the small town of Lymington, this open-air saltwater bath offers quality entertainment as well as incredible views of the Lymington Canal. The baths include an inflatable obstacle course, a saltwater pool and paddle sessions. There are changing rooms and toilets on site as well as a first aid cabin. There is also a concession kiosk which offers a number of snacks and drinks.

New Forest Water Park

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. subject to change.

The water park is great fun for the whole family. The park includes two inflatable obstacle courses. Poseidon will run every hour while Neptune will run every half hour. These two courses include: swings, climbing walls, trampolines, springboards, slides and much more. Challenge your friends and family and race the course. Perfect family entertainment.

Lee Splash Park

Address: Seafront, Lee-on-the-Solent PO13 9LA

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Lee Splash Park is a free outdoor play facility with year-round play devices as well as water features that only operate in the summer. This water park is suitable for children aged 11 and under.

Gosport Water Park

Address: Stokes Bay Road, Gosport, PO12 2BL

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

This free outdoor playground is located on the seafront in Stokes Bay.

There are paid car parks located opposite as well as public toilets nearby. This water park includes both game devices and water games.

This water park is suitable for children aged 8 and under. Because this is a family space, dogs, alcohol, smoking and glass are not prohibited.

Aquadome & Lagoon Pool

Address: Basingstoke Aquadrome, Worting Road, Basingstoke RG22 6PG

Opening hours: Open Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and every day during school holidays, booking recommended during busy periods.

If the sun gets too strong, taking a break inside Basingstoke’s popular Aquadome might just be the answer. The center’s Lagoon Pool features slides, rapids, a host of interactive water features, a spa pool, and a beach. Younger ones can earn their water wings in a paddling area, with the interactive water splash and play area next to the lagoon pool.

(The slides and the Under the Sea area remain closed for the time being).

Tickets cost Adult (16+) – £7.50, Junior (6-15) £5.35, Senior £5.35, Under 6s are free.

A family ticket (2 adults + 2 children) costs £21.50.

Romsey Rapids Sports Complex

Enjoy all-day family fun with rapids, slides, tipping buckets, and deep-sea sailing on the pirate ship. With new soft play and adventure golf areas, the resort is open daily throughout the summer, but check the center’s website for event and booking details before planning. your trip.

Winchester Sports and Leisure Park

Opening hours: Monday to Friday 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Winchester Sports and Leisure Park is not only home to its 50m swimming pool but also its family water play area. This allows toddlers and young children to paddle under the supervision of their parents. There is little to no standing water to prevent injury and risk to young children. This paddling pool promises fun and introduces children to the water in a fun and safe environment that will help build confidence.

Admission is £2 per person throughout the summer for family screenings.
