Hart Swimming Club won 27 medals at the Basingstoke Open meet last weekend.
It was a fantastic achievement for the 32-swimmer team at Hart SC, as many swimmers set personal bests.
The club had previously taken an outstanding team to the Windsor Open Meet held at the new Maidenhead Leisure Centre, where they won 13 medals.
Head Coach Darren Buchan said, “It’s been a fantastic spring for all of our swimmers and we couldn’t be prouder. A big thank you to all of our coaches who supported our swimmers on all of our teams during a very busy swimming time.
“Thank you to Dan, James, Will and Alex as well as Libby and Maya for all the support they give us. Special thanks to Balaz who is leaving the coaching staff shortly for a new adventure. You have been incredible as a coach and mentor to our young swimmers.
In April, Hart swimmer Katherine Cairney competed in the 50m backstroke at the British Championships in Sheffield, posting a phenomenal time against the country’s top swimmers. The competition was fierce as she faced specialists like back specialist and Tokyo 2020 Olympics gold medalist Kathleen Dawson.
Hart SC was also represented at the National Scottish Masters Swimming Championships in Glasgow.
Clive Benson and Tony Clark were part of the team that won three silvers, one bronze and nine personal bests in a very tough competition.
Swimmers Hart Clive and Michelle also competed in the Erith District Masters competition in Kent, winning the equivalent of seven gold medals, one silver and one bronze, under difficult conditions.
Coach Buchan said: “Our level of competitiveness and success at the highest points in British swimming continues to grow. We are delighted to have been represented at the British Championships again. We had a few more swimmers who missed the qualifying times ever so slightly, but we’re confident we’ll get them there next year.
Our masters swimmers continue to push what is possible in the upper age groups of our club. An outstanding achievement for them in Scotland.”
Winchester’s new multi-million pound swimming pool hosted this year’s South East Regional Championships in May. Hart SC won a record number of qualifying competitions in a record number of races for the club.

Buchan added: “The depth and quality of the club continues to grow. Evidenced by the success of this year’s Hampshire County Championships and subsequent Regional Championships.
“For the first time in years we brought a balanced team across all age groups to the championships with an incredible number of swimmers making it to finals and sadly just missing out on medals.
“Our region is one of the toughest to compete in, with some really big clubs hosted in the region. But we thrive on competition, it pushes us to train harder and makes us all stronger.
The main team swimmers are now preparing for the Hampshire development meet and club championships, while the masters team has a contingent of four swimmers traveling to Aberdeen to compete in the British masters championships, followed by the Hampshire Masters Championships.
