Swimming and diving gear up for 2022 NCAA DII Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – After a very successful season in the pool for both Indianapolis University’s swimming and diving programs, it’s finally time for both to compete in the 2022 NCAA Division II Championships held at Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. The men enter the four-day event fresh out of a Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Tag Team Championship while the women took second place in the conference.

Last season at the 2021 NCAA DII Championships, the two programs earned a third-place finish that marked the all-time highest landing spot for women. It was the third consecutive time the men finished in this position in the team standings.

A total of 37 student-athletes are expected to compete this week for UIndy. Fourteen swimmers make up the roster for the women while 16 swimmers round things out for the men. Three female divers and four male divers will have a chance to participate in the pre-qualifying event. Both teams will also send relay teams to the five relay events.

The action is set to begin on Tuesday with the pre-qualifying diving event. From there, the swimming and diving preliminaries are scheduled to open Wednesday at 10 a.m. ET with the finals at 6 p.m. ET. This format will continue until the end of Saturday.
