Northampton Swimming Club are celebrating after finding out that four of their swimmers have been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Para Swimming Championships to be held in Madeira in June.
The four are Maisie Summers-Newton, Will Perry, Scarlett Humphrey and Eliza Humphrey.
They were all selected thanks to their performances at the British Para Swimming International Meet, held in Aberdeen, Scotland last month.
The Humphreys and Perry will make their world championship debuts, but for two-time Paralympic gold medalist Summers-Newton it will be her second time, having made her debut in 2019, winning gold in the SM6 200m medley.
Andy Sharp, Director of Swimming and Head Coach of the NSC, said: “This is another great achievement for our athletes at Northampton Swimming Club.
“Ed Mildred competed at the World Short Course Championships in December for UK swimming, and to have four athletes from one club on the UK World Para Swimming Championships team is incredible.
“There is no other program in the country that has so many swimmers on the team, so we are all very proud.
“The swimmers will compete in a mix of individual and relay events, and in preparation for these championships they will have the opportunity to travel overseas to camps to gain experience as part of this team. senior.”
