More medals and quick times for St Ives Swimming Club

The youngsters of St Ives Swimming Club are back – after another huge medal haul and the best performances of a lifetime.

The club had 29 entrants at the Fenland Open Meet in Whittlesey, with some of the races bringing not only medals and personal bests, but qualifying times for the County A Championship for 2023.

A total of six gold, 11 silver and eight bronze medals were won and much of the team had multiple wins.

Tate Taylor had the biggest collection with four silvers and one bronze while Anna Desborough managed two golds and one silver, as did Anna Freeman.

Gracie Ward won a silver and two bronze medals.

Leah Basford won two gold medals, Elliot Megginson and Isabel Martin both won a silver and a bronze, and Oliver Dickson two bronze medals.

Silver medals went to Marli and Millie Taylor while bronze medals were won by Alfie Everett, Hannah Pye and Anna Gallagher.

Some of those who claim the best times of all time include: Lauren Bailey, Jack Ballester, Felix Butterworth, Lois Cannon, Marco Codispoti, Edward Jennings, George Jennings, Thomas Jennings, Toby Jones, Maja Kurkiewicz, Isobelle Moore, Jasmine Sellens, Max Smith, Millie Smith, Zara Sparkes and Darcy Stimson.
